Advocacy
The Advocacy Task Force aims to create inclusive communities and strong local economies through collaborative advocacy and civic engagement. Our goal is to increase the refugee and asylee employment rates throughout the county. They do this by spreading information about wellness throughout the community and developing strategies to navigate our rapidly changing health care system. Co-Chairs: Laurel Dalsted, International Recuse Committee, Laurel.Dalsted@rescue.org Join the World Refugee Day Planning Committee Google Group Domestic Violence The Domestic Violence Task Force addresses issues facing persons fleeing war and violent conflict in San Diego. Our goal is to educate the San Diego community about these issues and direct the Forum's advocacy efforts to change public policy. Co-Chairs: Dilkhwaz Ahmed, License to Freedom, dilkhwaz@licensetofreedom.org Asylum The Asylum Task Force identifies issues faced by asylum seekers and asylees in San Diego, facilitate the education of the San Diego community about these issues, and spearhead the Forum’s advocacy efforts and involvement in public policy making around those issues. |
